About
Aim
The Security and Human Rights Monitor (SHRM) is a platform for debate, analysis, information, and developments relevant to the mandate of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). It focuses in particular on the inter-relationship between security and human rights.
Historical background
The SHRM is a combination of the respected journal Security and Human Rights (founded in 1990 and formerly known as Helsinki Monitor) and its former blog.
The SHRM is administered under the auspices of the Netherlands Helsinki Committee (NHC), thanks to the generous support of donors. Content is produced under the guidance of an editorial board.
Contents
SHRM includes several components. These include analysis, opinion, news, and interviews. Furthermore, readers will also find a selection of open-access, peer-reviewed articles, previously published by the acclaimed publisher Brill/Nijhoff and currently self-published by SHRM. The views expressed here represent those of the authors and not of the SHR Monitor or of the Netherlands Helsinki Committee.
